Commissioners approve pay increase
The Roscommon County Board of Commissioners approved a 1% pay increase for non-judicial elected officials, non-union hourly and appointed employees for the 2011 calendar year, during their Oct. 27 meeting.
The pay bump amounts to an increase of $69,201.37 in employee costs to the county.
During the same meeting the board approved a motion to freeze the wages for the Roscommon County Board of Commissioners and the Roscommon Road Commissioners for the 2011 calendar year. The motion to freeze the wages passed unanimously.
The motion for the 1% pay increase passed 4-1, with Commissioner Marc Milburn casting the only negative vote.
Other topics during the meeting included the closing of a non-secure detention home for boys, updates from the Spicer Group on dams and the Roscommon County Jail passing its state inspection. Stories detailing these will be included in next week’s Resorter.
