MINOR INJURIES


Denton Township emergency personnel tend to an injured driver after a noontime accident on M-55 near Forest Park Court Monday. According to a report by Denton Township Police, the accident occurred when Peggy Sue LaBean, 75, of Houghton Lake, who was westbound on M-55, collided with a westbound van driven by Elizabeth Bresmon, 49, of Grayling, which was stopped and waiting to make a left turn into the St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store parking lot. LaBean and Bresmon’s passengers, Linda Rodgers, 62, of Lake City, Lori Siewert, 52, Grayling, Eric O’Neal, 38, Houghton Lake and Josephine Nascief, 75, Houghton Lake, were transported to Mercy Hospital in Grayling by ambulances from Denton and Markey Townships and Houghton Lake, while Bresmon drove herself to the hospital. All the accident victims were treated and released according to Officer Justin Nau. LaBean was cited for failing to stop in an assured safe distance.
