Beverly L. Nester

Beverly L. Nester, 77, Grayling, died Nov. 20, 2010, at her winter home in Jensen Beach, FL.
A service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 30, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Roscommon. The Rev. Dr. James N. Kent will officiate. Burial will be in Gerrish Township Cemetery, Roscommon. Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon, handled arrangements.
Mrs. Nester was born Dec. 1, 1932, to Richard and Helen (Campbell) Wintrode. She moved from Warren to Roscommon in 1978 and then to Grayling in 1996. She and Donald W. Nester were united in marriage May 17, 1952, in Detroit. With her husband she co-owned Don Nester Chevrolet-Oldsmobile from 1978 to 1993 and was the comptroller there. She had been an office manager for Michigan Contractor and Builder from 1965 to 1978.
She was a member of Zonta. Her loves included her family, cooking, playing golf, reading and Tiger baseball.
Preceding her in death were her daughter, Julie Nester; parents; sister-in-law, Sue Wintrode; and brother-in-law, David Nester.
Surviving Mrs. Nester are her husband, Don Nester of Grayling; children, Jeff Nester of Roscommon and Cheryl and her husband Gary Schall of Charlotte; grandchildren, Allison and her husband Dan McGinnis of Royal Oak and Roscommon, Bryan Schall of Grand Rapids and Matt Nester of Higgins Lake; two great-grandchildren, Alivia and Hayden; brothers, David and his wife Roberta Wintrode of Toms River, NJ, Richard Wintrode of Milford and Marty and his wife Victoria Wintrode of Warren; daughter-in-law, LeBeth Baetens of Roscommon; brother-in-law, Dale and his wife Sally Nester of Stanwood; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Roscommon County Community Foundation for a fund to be established in Mrs. Nester’s name.
