Trial set in abuse case

A Prescott man charged with first degree child abuse is ready to stand trial in 34th Circuit Court.

Arvil P. McCoy, 18, was charged in connection with an Aug. 16 incident in St. Helen in which his then three-monthold daughter allegedly suffered a broken arm.

A trial was set for Feb. 3, 2011.

Judge Daniel L. Sutton recently arraigned the following in 83rd District Court:

Johnnie R. Bielicki Jr., 35, Redford, waived preliminary examination and was bound over to Circuit Court where he pleaded guilty to unlawfully driving away an automobile. Dismissed was a charge of driving while intoxicated, third offense. State Police, Houghton Lake, made the arrest. The date of offense was Dec. 9. Bond was set at $20,000. Bielicki will be sentenced in Circuit Court.
