83rd District Court

Judge Daniel L. Sutton recently arraigned the following in 83rd District Court:

Thomas J. Brewer, 33, Houghton Lake Heights, demanded preliminary examination within 14 days on a charge of driving while intoxicated, third offense. The Roscommon County Sheriff’s Department made the arrest. The date of offense was Dec. 29, 2010. Bond was set at $5,000.

Joseph M. Perez, 27, Houghton Lake, demanded preliminary examination within 14 days on two counts of extortion and one count of domestic violence, third offense. The sheriff’s department made the arrest. The date of offense was Dec. 28. Bond was set at $100,000.

Todd M. Baden Sr., 44, St. Helen, demanded preliminary examination within 14 days on a charge of driving while intoxicated, third offense. Richfield Township Police made the arrest. The date of offense was Jan. 3. Bond was set at $10,000.

Jeffrey T. McGurk, 25, Houghton Lake, demanded preliminary examination within 14 days on a charge of interfering with electronic communications. The sheriff’s department made the arrest. The date of offense was Jan. 1. Bond was set at $5,000.

Roger K. Day, 42, Houghton Lake, was bound over to Circuit Court after a preliminary examination was held on one count of first degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of third degree criminal sexual conduct. State Police, Houghton

Lake, made the arrest. The date of offense was Oct. 1, 2009, through Oct. 2, 2010. Bond was set at $100,000.

The following were sentenced after pleading guilty to charges filed against them:

Ron A. Thelen, 45, Holt, impaired driving: $970 in fines, costs or restitution, six months probation and the conviction was reported to the Secretary of State.

Debora L. Greenier, 36, Pellston, possession of marijuana: $410 in fines, costs or restitution, six months probation and 30 days license suspension.

Ronald G. Hargrove II, 42, St. Helen, trespassing: $155 in fines, costs or restitution.
