George O. Webster

Higgins Lake resident George O. Webster, 31, died Jan. 18, 2011, at his home.

Mr. Webster, a lifelong resident of Higgins Lake, was born May 24, 1979, the son of Patrick and Nancy (Simmons) Webster, in Grayling. He was a carpenter who enjoyed fishing and all sports and was a skilled model car builder. He played football and baseball at Roscommon High School. He loved being with his son, Eric Webster, of West Branch, and family.

He served with the U. S. Navy. He attended Long Lake Friends Church, Traverse City.

In addition to his parents and his son, Eric Webster, he is survived by a brother, Charles (Bea) Webster, Traverse City, two nieces, Elisa and Natalie Webster; maternal grandparents Edward and Fran Simmons of Fort Lauderdale, FL; paternal grandfather Michael (Jean) Webster of Spring Hill, TN; several aunts, uncles, cousins and a special cousin Lisa Mayo. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Lorraine Lowe ad her husband, Bud Lowe; and an uncle, Glen Webster.

Memorials may be made to Area 4 Special Olympics, 198 Pine Bluffs Rd., Roscommon, MI 48653.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Walsh Funeral Home handled arrangements.
