Joseph William Pace

Joseph William Pace, 74, Falmouth, died Jan.14, 2011, at his home.

Born May 6, 1936 in Merritt he was the son of Liam and Beatrice (Knapp) Pace, both who preceded him in death. He grew up in the Merritt area and was married to Nancy Ancel, and she preceded him in death in 2005. He lived in the Ann Arbor area for 30 years while he worked for the Michigan Department of Corrections and returned to the Merritt area after his retirement.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Nancy; daughter, Terri Robinson and five brothers and sisters.

Surviving are his daughter, Cheri Jo Pace of Merritt; son, David (Cheri) Pace of Ann Arbor; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Barb Loveless of Merritt; two brothers, Frances Pace of Portland, OR and Art Knapp of Muskegon and several nieces and nephews.

At his request there will be no services.

Those wishing to make memorial donations in his memory are asked to consider a donation to his grandson Corey’s medical expenses for a kidney transplant. The fund is set up at the Houghton Lake North Central Area Credit Union or can be directed to the family.

Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel, handled the arrangements.
