Warren S. Weese

Warren S. Weese, 87, Houghton Lake, formerly of Imlay City, died Jan. 13, 2011, at The Brook Retirement Community, Houghton Lake.

Born July 27, 1923, in Imlay City, he was the son of William and Gertrude (Stevens) Weese. His parents preceded him in death. He graduated from Imlay City High School in 1940 and married Genevieve Mae “Jenny” (Todd) Weese Sept. 5, 1947. He was a dairy farmer for many years and he and his wife owned and operated the Cedar Lanes Bowling Alley, Imlay City. After retirement the couple lived in the Alpena area during the summer and wintered in Las Vegas. He was an avid Detroit Tigers fan throughout his life.

Preceding him in death were his wife Jenny, Dec. 9, 2010, and his nephew, Gerald Deppong.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews, Jack (Marge) Deppong of Houghton Lake, Carol Deppong of Imlay

City, Sharon (Dave) Smith of Sturgis, Laura Weese of Seattle, WA, Richard (Greta) Hougom of Onalaska, WI, Irvin Hougom of Lacrosse, WI, Janet (Roger) Wolter of Salem, WI, Diane (Steve) Hintz of Onalaska, WI, Jossett Gossett of Mt. Clemens, David Todd of Texas and Brian Todd of Saginaw.

A memorial service for both Mr. Warren Weese and Mrs. Genevive Weese will be held in June in Imlay City. Interment will be in Imlay Township Cemetery, Imlay City.

Those wishing to make memorial donations in his name are asked to consider the Houghton Lake United Methodist Church, 7059 West Houghton Lake Dr, Houghton Lake. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel, handled arrangements.
