Thefts reported at end of January

Several thefts were reported to the Roscommon County Sheriff’s Department the last weekend of January.

A Roscommon Township man and his son reported cigarettes and about $25 in change were stolen from their vehicles sometime during the night of Jan. 28. The vehicles were parked in the driveway unlocked.

A Markey Township man reported Jan. 28 his propane heater was stolen after his neighbor alerted him to the suspect. The heater was recovered and the victim refused to press charges.

A Roscommon Township woman reported two credit cards, Social Security card and more than 80 pain pills stolen from her purse Jan. 29. Deputies are still investigating the incident.

In Markey Township, a man reported two torch tanks, a torch wand and carrier were stolen Jan. 31. That theft is still under investigation.
