Roscommon County Headstart programs to begin recruiting

Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency, Inc. has announced they will begin recruiting for the 2011- 12 school year.

Families who have children who are ages 3-4 and live in Roscommon County are encouraged to apply for this free preschool program. Children with special needs are eligible. There will also be a separate recruitment for children under the age of three and for pregnant women.

The goal of the program is to encourage well-rounded development by teaching health, language, self-help, socialization, large and small muscle and cognitive thinking skills. Meals and some transportation are provided for this program.
