83rd District Court

Judge Daniel L. Sutton recently arraigned the following in 83rd District Court:

Steven T. Chapman, 39, Roscommon, waived preliminary examination and was bound over to Circuit Court where he pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana, second offense. The Roscommon County Sheriff’s Department made the arrest. The date of offense was Feb. 11. Bond was set at $250. Chapman will be sentenced in Circuit Court.

John W. Clutter, 47, St. Helen, waived preliminary examination and was bound over to Circuit Court where he pleaded guilty to breaking and entering a motor vehicle (with damage to vehicle). State Police, Houghton Lake, made the arrest. The date of offense was Oct. 5, 2010. Bond was set at $100,000. Clutter will be sentenced in Circuit Court.

Carley F. Debeck, 23, Houghton Lake, waived preliminary examination and was bound over to Circuit Court where she pleaded guilty to filing a false report of a felony. State Police, Houghton Lake, made the arrest. The date of offense was Jan. 16. Bond was set at $100. Debeck will be sentenced in Circuit Court.

William O. Thomas, 24, Houghton Lake, waived preliminary examination and was bound over to Circuit Court where he pleaded guilty to larceny in a building (amended from breaking and entering). State Police, Houghton Lake, made the arrest. The date of offense was March 1. Bond was set at $10,000. Thomas will be sentenced in Circuit Court.

Keith A. Barnes, 43, Houghton Lake, demanded preliminary examination within 14 days on two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of resisting and obstructing police. The sheriff’s department made the arrest. The date of offense was Oct. 10. Bond was set at $25,000.

Gregory A. Hendershott, 47, Houghton Lake, demanded preliminary examination within 14 days on charges of driving while intoxicated, third offense, driving while intoxicated with an occupant less than 16, second offense, and driving with a suspended license, second offense. The sheriff’s department made the arrest. The date of offense was March 7. Hendershott was released on a personal recognizance bond.

Jason M. Lindstrom, 36, Roscommon, demanded preliminary examination within 14 days on two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Gerrish Township Police made the arrest. The date of offense was Feb. 28. Bond was set at $2,000.

The following pleaded guilty to charges filed against them and were sentenced:

James A. Kittle, 28, Higgins Lake, impaired driving: $870 in fines, costs or restitution, six months probation and the conviction was reported to the Secretary of State.

Brandy L. Lopez, 34, Roscommon, impaired driving: 15 days in jail with credit for 11 days, $1,405 in fines, costs or restitution, 12 months probation and the conviction was reported to the Secretary of State. The defendant must pay $632 or serve an additional 60 days in jail.

Matthew I. Charach, 20, Madison Heights, impaired driving: $1,145 in fines, costs or restitution, six months probation and the conviction was reported to the Secretary of State.

Denise M. Davis, 50, Lansing, impaired driving: $935 in fines, costs or restitution and the conviction was reported to the Secretary of State.

Brian T. Murray, 46, Royal Oak, impaired driving: 15 days in jail with credit for one day, $1,155 in fines, costs or restitution, 12 months probation and the conviction was reported to the Secretary of State. The defendant must pay $615 or serve an additional 60 days in jail.

Michael R. Schultz, 45, Houghton Lake, impaired driving (controlled substance): Eight days in jail with credit for two days; $2,773.59 in fines, costs or restitution, six months probation and the conviction was reported to the Secretary of State. The defendant must pay $532 or serve an additional 60 days in jail.

Martin E. Bielicki, 30, Houghton Lake, breaking and entering: 30 days in jail with credit for one day, $1,978 in fines, costs or restitution and 12 months probation. The defendant must pay $412 in fines and costs or serve an additional 40 days.

James E. Hose, 22, Houghton Lake, allowing minors to consume alcohol: $560 in fines, costs or restitution.

Amanda L. Hosler, 22, Chesterfield, possession of marijuana: $410 in fines, costs or restitution, six months probation and 30 days license suspension.

Alexander J. Scott, 25, Lake, possession of marijuana and possession or sale of a switchblade: $880 in fines, costs or restitution, 72 months probation and 30 days license suspension.

Joseph M. Perez, 27, Prudenville, possession of marijuana: 30 days in jail with credit for 30 days and 30 days license suspension.

Nathan R. Clay, 25, Roscommon, possession of marijuana: 30 days in jail with credit for 15 days, and 30 days license suspension.

Charles G. Marion Jr., 37, Ortonville, possession of marijuana and impaired driving: $1,180 in fines, costs or restitution, six months probation and the conviction was reported to the Secretary of State.

Jessica S.A. Vannatter, 25, Roscommon, third degree retail fraud: $425.94 in fines, costs or restitution and six months probation.

Brian M. Peterson, 20, Houghton Lake, malicious destruction of property: $689.27 in fines, costs or restitution and six months probation.

Jennifer L. Hose, 24, Houghton Lake, domestic violence: $530 in fines, costs or restitution and 12 months probation.
