James Everett Thurston

James Everett Thurston, 51, Houghton Lake, died April 2, 2011, at Brian’s House, Bay City.

Born June 5, 1959 in Flint, he was the son of Franklin and Sarah (Bailer) Thurston, both of whom preceded him in death. He worked as a pipe fitter in water storage treatment plants before moving to Houghton Lake from Alpena in 1993. He sold firewood at his home on M-55 across from Spicer’s Boat City for many years.

Surviving are his two brothers, John Thurston of Houghton Lake and Frank Thurston Jr. of Atlanta, GA and daughter, Sarah Lynn Weller of St. Helen.

Family services will be conducted. Interment will be next to his parents in Ford Cemetery, Elsie.

Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
