83rd District Court

Judge Daniel L. Sutton recently arraigned the following in 83rd District Court:

Edward A. Brinkey, 25, Houghton Lake, waived preliminary examination and was bound over to Circuit Court where he pleaded no contest to aggravated stalking. Dismissed was a charge of retaliating against a witness. The Roscommon County Sheriff’s Department made the arrest. The date of offense was March 8. Bond was set at $5,000. Brinkey will be sentenced in Circuit Court.

Kyle R. Genslak, 17, Houghton Lake, demanded preliminary examination within 14 days on a charge of breaking and entering with intent. The sheriff’s department made the arrest. The date of offense was Feb. 20. Bond was set at $3,000.

Donna L. Matthews, 47, Grayling, demanded preliminary examination within 14 days on a charge of driving while intoxicated, third offense. Denton Township Police made the arrest. The date of offense was Aug. 29. Bond was set at $5,000.

Matthew J. Thornton, 30, Roscommon, demanded preliminary examination within 14 days on one count of possession of child sexually abusive material and one count of using a computer to commit a crime. The sheriff’s department made the arrest. The date of offense was Jan. 17. Bond was set at $5,000.

Earnest Williams Jr., 41, Detroit, demanded preliminary examination within 14 days on a charge of delivery/manufacture of marijuana, second offense. The sheriff’s department made the arrest. The date of offense was April 6. Bond was set at $25,000.

Carrie L. Westbay, 34, Roscommon, demanded preliminary examination within 14 days on a charge of possession of marijuana, second offense. State Police, Houghton Lake, made the arrest. The date of offense was March 26. Bond was set at $100.

The following were sentenced after pleading guilty to charges filed against them:

Logan J. Mikula, 18, Houghton Lake, impaired driving: $1,070 in fines, costs or restitution, six months probation and the conviction was reported to the Secretary of State.

Kari L. Valentine, 29, Prudenville, impaired driving: $895 in fines, costs or restitution, six months probation and the conviction was reported to the Secretary of State.

Cameron S. Harwell, 44, Manton, impaired driving: $895 in fines, costs or restitution, six months probation and the conviction was reported to the Secretary of State.

Clay A. Hasychak, 23, State College, PA, use of a non-narcotic controlled substance and impaired driving: $1,060 in fines, costs or restitution and the conviction was reported to the Secretary of State.

Donald P. Ritchie, 19, Houghton Lake, use of marijuana: 10 days in jail with credit for 10 days and 30 day license suspension.

David A. Schenavar, 53, St. Helen, domestic violence, second offense, and aggravated domestic violence: 180 days in jail on each count (credit 110 days).

John A. Michalik, 43, Prudenville, domestic violence, second offense: 60 days in jail (credit for 60 days).
