EVERYONE NEEDS HELP SOMETIMES
The tables turned quickly for State Police Trooper Kevin Flick Tuesday morning, when another driver turned in front of him and suddenly, he was the one in need of help, rather than the one providing it. After seeing the patrol car involved in the accident, passerby Mike Furlo of Midland stopped, checked on the accident victims’ conditions, then placed road flares around the scene. According to a report by the Roscommon County Sheriff’s Department, Flick, 45, of Houghton Lake, was traveling eastbound on M-55 when a car driven westbound by Lorna Myers, 58, of Houghton Lake, attempted to make a left turn onto southbound Reserve Road, causing a collision. Flick and Myers were transported to Mercy Hospital in Grayling, by Houghton Lake and Denton Township Ambulance, respectively, where they were treated and released. Myers was cited for failing to yield the right of way. State Police and Denton Township police and fire personnel also responded to the accident.
