Douglas ‘Doug’ Woodward

Douglas “Doug” Woodward, 62, Prudenville, died May 10, 2011 at his home.

Born May 4, 1949 in Flint, he was the son of Willard and Beatrice (Winans) Woodward. He lived most of his life in the Prudenville area. He served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War  and was a Purple Heart recipient. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Thomas and niece, Barbara.

Surviving are his sister, Lindalea Coley of Prudenville; niece, Amanda Gibbons; nephews, Dick Stout and Cory Stout; one great-niece; seven great-nephews; one great-great-nephew and special friends Mike Smolka, Larry Nagy and John Thomas.

A funeral service was held at Christler Funeral Home, Prudenville Chapel on May 16. Burial will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, May 17 at 11:30 a.m.

Memorial contributions can be directed to the American Cancer Society.
