Police doing job

This is in reply to the letter from Nate Thompson of Grand Haven (Resorter, June 23, 2011). On behalf of myself and others from Houghton Lake, I would like to thank you for not coming to the bash this year. We often wonder why people come up from down state and think that because this is not their hometown they can do what ever they want when staying here. The police are not harassing you, they are doing their job. Yes, we know you pay property taxes but that still does not give you the right to behave in a manner that you would not do in your own town. So, please stay home so the rest of us can enjoy a safe weekend at bash time. Our thanks to the Roscommon County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan State Police and all other law enforcement for doing a good job!
