Lavendar named associate dean at Kirtland

Julie Lavender, MS, RNC-MNN, was recently named associate dean for health sciences at Kirtland Community College.

Lavender is responsible to oversee the faculty, curriculum and accreditation for the college’s health sciences programs which include: nursing (Roscommon and M-Tec campuses), certified nursing assistant (Roscommon and M-Tec), cardiac sonography (M Tec), pharmacy technology (Roscommon), and surgical technology (West Branch). A respiratory therapy (M-Tec) program is available as well through a partnership agreement with Ferris State University.

“We are fortunate to be able to hire someone with Julie’s qualifications. Her knowledge of nursing is both current and relevant and she is a great advocate for the success of students,” KCC President Dr. Thomas Quinn said.

Lavender received her nursing degree in 1989, began teaching in 1995, and received her master’s degree in 1997.
