83rd District Court

Judge Daniel L. Sutton recently arraigned the following in 83rd District Court:

Leon J. Bowman, 42, Gwinn, waived preliminary examination on three counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct and was bound over to Circuit Court where he pleaded guilty to one count (the other two were dismissed). The Roscommon County Sheriff’s Department made the arrest. The date of offense was Jan. 1, 2007, through July 29, 2011. Bond was set at $100,000. Bowman will be sentenced in Circuit Court.

Juan M. Garza, 25, Lansing, waived preliminary examination and was bound over to Circuit Court where he pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance. State Police, Houghton Lake, made the arrest. The date of offense was Aug. 6. Bond was set at $20,000.

Kenneth L. Bailey, 52, Roscommon, waived preliminary examination and was bound over to Circuit Court where he pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated, third offense. The sheriff’s department made the arrest. The date of offense was Sept. 9. Bond was set at $5,000.

Andrew C. Eash, 20, Houghton Lake, demanded preliminary examination within 14 days on a charge of larceny from a motor vehicle. State Police, Houghton Lake, made the arrest. The date of offense was June 13. Bond was set at $2,500.

Nicholas G. Wilcox, 22, Detroit, demanded preliminary examination within 14 days on a charge of failure to comply with the sex offender registry act. State Police, Houghton Lake, made the arrest. The date of offense was July 25. Bond was set at $50,000.

The following pleaded guilty to charges filed against them and were sentenced:

Sandra L. Frye, 62, Gladwin, impaired driving: $1,010 in fines, costs or restitution and the conviction was reported to the Secretary of State.

Terry A. Ritter, 44, Prudenville, impaired driving: 120 days in jail with credit for one day, $1,155 in fines, costs or restitution, 12 months probation and the conviction was reported to the Secretary of State.

Jana L. Wright, 45, Redford, impaired driving: $835 in fines, costs or restitution and the conviction was reported to the Secretary of State.

Brian K. Debaeke, 44, Roscommon, driving while intoxicated: $835 in fines, costs or restitution and the conviction was reported to the Secretary of State.

Charles T. Benedict, 21, Hastings, possession of marijuana: 30 days in jail with credit for 30 days and 60 days license suspension.

Jay A. Kozumplik, 20, Roscommon, possession of marijuana: $410 in fines, costs or restitution, six months probation and 30 days license suspension.

Michael L. Murday, 25, Saginaw, disorderly person by intoxication: $160 in fines, costs or restitution.

Gary L. Burge, 43, Prescott, possession or sale of switchblade: 60 days in jail with credit for 47 days.
