The Red Cross blood drive held at St. John Lutheran Church at Houghton Lake Sept. 26 collected 48 units, down from the average of 60 units according to Red Cross spokesperson Violet Gonzales.

Gonzales said two donors, Dewey Barber and Carrie Burnett, both of Houghton Lake, earned their five-gallon pins during Monday’s blood drive.
