Poeppe, Molenda wed in St. John’s Chapel at the Inn


Mr. and Mrs. Brian Molenda Mr. and Mrs. Brian Molenda Sarah Anne Poeppe, daughter of Dean and Christine Poeppe of Houghton Lake, and Brian Thomas Molenda, son of the late Michael and Stella Molenda of Romulus, were united in marriage Aug. 13, 2011, at St. John’s Chapel at the Inn at St. John’s, Plymouth.

The bride was given in marriage by her father during the double ring ceremony. Father Timothy Babcock officiated the 4 p.m. nuptials. The Inn at St. John’s cantor and pianist provided music.

The bride wore a Martina Liana silk taffeta gown, which featured a sweetheart neckline with a ruched and beaded bodice, a crystal beaded belt and a full A-line skirt with a cathedral train. She carried a bouquet of white roses.

Matron of honor was Theresa Lynn Sirovy, sister of the bride. She wore a black satin gown with a strapless bodice, a side drape accent and crystal brooch detail. She carried a bouquet of white roses.

Serving as bridesmaids were Jennifer McEllroy, friend/co-worker of the bride, Alicia Wilson, college friend of the bride, Adrienne Stack, high school friend of the bride, Alison Taylor, high school friend of the bride, and Alana Walden, friend/ co-worker of the bride. They all wore gowns matching the matron of honor and carried bouquets of white roses.

The best man was Ted Skolarus, friend of the groom. He wore a black tuxedo, black tie with white rose boutonniere. The attendants were Robb Thompson, friend of the groom, Joseph Felice, friend of the groom, Tim Molenda, brother of the groom, Michael Molenda, brother of the groom, and Matthew Molenda, brother of the groom. They all wore black tuxedos with black ties and white boutonnieres.

Ronin Stack served as the flower girl. She wore a white satin Cinderella dress with gathered accents and floral detail. Evan Thompson served as the ring bearer. He wore a black tuxedo that matched the groomsmen’s tuxedos.

Dean Joseph Poeppe Jr., brother of the bride, Brian Christopher Poeppe, brother of bride, Russell Pit-og, friend of the groom, and Raj Iyre, friend of the groom, served as ushers.

Christine Poeppe, mother of the bride, wore a black sequin and beaded Stenay short-sleeved top with a black chiffon, tulip-hemmed skirt and a black horsehair fascinator with beads and feathers.

Linda Johnson served as the wedding coordinator. A reception for 200 guests was held at the Atrium Ballroom at the Inn at St. John’s, Plymouth. The room was decorated with 24-inch pilsner vases with white rose bouquets and eight-inch rose bowl vases of white roses. In lieu of table favors, a donation was made to St. Vincent de Paul in honor of the groom’s deceased parents, Michael and Stella Molenda.

The newlyweds spent a week enjoying the beauty of Maui, HI, and live in Royal Oak.

The bride attended Houghton Lake High School, Central Michigan University and Wayne State University Master’s Program. She is employed as a special education elementary teacher in Dearborn Heights. The groom attended Romulus High school, the University of Michigan and Wayne State University Pharmacy School. He is a pharmacist at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak.
