HONORING VETERANS



The Houghton Lake High School Band, under the direction of Sandi Ahlers, plays the “Star Spangled Banner” as members of the VFW Post 4034 Honor Guard stand at attention at the beginning of the Veteran’s Day program in the school’s auditorium Friday. Veterans of the United States Armed Services, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine attended the event held in their honor. American Legion Post 96 Commander George Kozlowski addresses the Roscommon High School student body during the Veteran’s Day ceremony on Nov. 11. Kozlowski told the students to thank a veteran for their service and he told them what a veteran is. “They served willingly to keep this country going,” Kozlowski said.
