George L. Major

George L. Major, 41, Roscommon, died Dec. 7, 2011, at Mercy Hospital Grayling.

A funeral was held Dec. 11 at Christler Funeral Home, Prudenville Chapel with the Rev. Bryan Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Briley Township Cemetery in Atlanta.

Born June 18, 1970 in Mt. Clemens, he was the son of George and Helen (Gaffney) Major. He graduated from Houghton Lake High School in 1989. He worked as a mechanic at White Deer Golf Course and formerly at Houghton Lake Community Schools. He married Rosanne F. Stano in Roscommon on March 3, 1997. He was known to be talented and was able to fix anything. He loved to hunt, snowmobile and working at White Deer Golf Course.

Preceding him in death was his stepfather, Pat MacMillan.

Surviving are his wife, Rosanne Major of Roscommon; daughter, Megan Rose Major of Roscommon; two sons, George Steven Major and Matthew James Major of Roscommon; parents, George Major of Atlanta and Helen MacMillan of Roscommon; brother, John (Marci) Goble of Drummond Island; four sisters, Cindy (David) Wcisel of East China, Sandra (Joseph) Wesch of Port Huron, Sherry (Joseph) Poteat of Florida and Shelly (Darren) Jones of Wales; several nieces and nephews; and three step-brothers, Mike (Bambi) MacMillan of Missouri, Dan (Sue) Mac- Millan of St. Clair and Tim MacMillan of Missouri.
