Get stoned!

Maybe the headline is a little too flamboyant for what we wish to encourage, but maybe it garnered a bit more attention.

Denton Township is attempting to aid the funding of Trestle Park, the proposed public space at the end of Gladwin Road (M-18) and M-55 in Prudenville, north of Kronner Pharmacy and Burger King. One of their projects is to sell commemorative bricks with names of businesses, people, pets or whatever cast into the brick. It is a fund raiser that has been used at the Houghton Lake Area Historical Society and on Bobcat Field.

It’s a good idea and a great way to memorialize a family member, a family, an organization or an event. The bricks at the Historical Village have been there for many years. They are fun reading as you walk along too.

For $25 it is possible to “get stoned” and help a community project at the same time without suffering any public shame for admitting to being “stoned.”
