Squirrel cause of power outage



A power outage affected more than 6,000 Consumers Energy customers in Roscommon County Thursday.

According to Debra Dodd, spokesperson for Consumers Energy, a squirrel caused damage to a substation located in the county, resulting in the outage at about 10:45 a.m.

Power was restored by about 3:30 p.m., Dodd said.
