SNAPPED IN HALF



Officers from the Denton Township Police Department responded to a one-car accident on M-55 near HawleyRoadatHoughtonLakeatabout6pm.May 24. According to an accident report, a car driven by Fern Bonacci, 31, Houghton Lake, was traveling westbound on M-55 when she had what is believed to have been a seizure. This caused her to accelerate and veer from the road where she hit a sign, a utility pole and eventually a fence before coming to a stop. The utility pole that was struck was snapped in half, according to the report. Bonacci was taken to Mercy Hospital Grayling and treated for minor injuries.
