ART AND BASEBALL
Students from Houghton Lake Community Education took a field trip to Detroit on May 17 to visit the Detroit Institute of Arts and see the Detroit Tigers face the Minnesota Twins. The trip was made possible by a grant given to HLCE from the Roscommon County Community Foundation to cover transportation, museum admission and dinner. Lower deck seats to the game were given to the group free of charge through Major League Baseball. “Although the Tigers didn’t win, students had an amazing time at the game,” said Theresa McMunigal, English teacher at HLCE. “Students and staff are very appreciative of the community support that made this trip a reality.” Pictured are HLCE students at the Detroit Institute of Arts.
