TURNING 89
A family reunion and 89th birthday party were celebrated by Audrey Arlene Neilson Alton on May 26, 2012 at the Deer Run Estates Clubhouse in Prudenville. She was born Feb. 26, 1923 at Houghton Lake to Fred and Mable (Dennison) Neilson and graduated from the old stone schoolhouse high school in 1942. She married John F. Alton from West Branch and they raised six children, two of whom still live in the area. Mr. Alton was the postmaster at the Houghton Lake Post Office for over 30 years.
