FALL POPPING ALL OVER THE COUNTY

The pods of a milkweed plant pop open to cast their seed against a tapestry of rich fall colors next to Reserve Road in Gerrish Township Tuesday afternoon. Autumn colors, weather, wildlife and many other signs of the season have been on display almost everywhere in Roscommon County during the past week. The Resorter is again looking for the best color of the fall and is asking readers who have a favorite tree to photograph it and send us the image, along with an explanation of why it is the best. The Resorter will choose a number of the tree photos to be published in the newspaper in the next couple of weeks. All submitted photos will be posted online at www.houghtonlakeresorter.com. E-mail photos and descriptions to news@houghtonlakeresorter.com.
