RMS takes a stand against bullying

Frame One Frame One The Roscommon Middle School eighth grade students, supported by the Student Council, put on a surprise antibullying performance for the seventh graders recently. The theme of the skits was anti-bullying. The students acted out scenes they called “frames.” In frame one, the students showed bullying in action. Frame two showed how the students stepped in and resolved the bullying issue.

This is one of several different anti-bullying theme activities that RMS students have participated in since the beginning of the year. Other activities have included a poster contest, the creation of signs posted around school that show 14 ways to empower students, an anti-bullying theme pumpkin decorating contest, school wide 10 minute anti-bullying activities led by Assistant Principal MJ Ewald and the establishment of an Anti-Bullying Box where students can anonymously report bullying. The anti-bullying activities are in response to Michigan’s Anti-bullying Laws and Roscommon Area Public School Board policy.
