Lester C. 'Hutch' Hutchinson
Lester C. “Hutch” Hutchinson, 86, St. Helen, died Dec. 1, 2012 at the residence of his daughter surrounded by his family.
Memorial services will be conducted Dec. 6 at 1 p.m. at Christler Funeral Home, Prudenville Chapel, with the Reverend Tom Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of the service. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, St. Helen.
Born March 3, 1926 in Gagetown, he was the son of Claude and Beatrice (Carr) Hutchinson. He married Betty Jean Dow on Aug. 7, 1951 in West Branch. The couple built and operated the Airport Motel, St. Helen for 28 years. He worked as a crane operator for John R. Sand and Gravel retiring in 1982. He was a member of the West Branch Eagles Aerie #3646 and Teamsters Local #614.
Preceding him in death were his parents and sister, Marie Phillips.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Betty Jean Hutchinson of St. Helen; two sons, Gary (Victoria) Hutchinson of Portland and Claude “Chip” Hutchinson of West Branch; two daughters, Lynda (Clyde) Herb of West Branch and Brenda (Jeff) Mlasko of West Branch; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions can be directed to Hospice of Helping Hands, West Branch.
Christler Funeral Home, Prudenville Chapel, handled the arrangements.
