Sylvina Mary Powrie

Sylvina Mary Powrie, 65, Roscommon, died Nov. 22 at Arbor Hospice, Ann Arbor.

A funeral will be held Dec. 1 at 11:30 a.m. at First Congregational Church, Roscommon, with Pastor Mark Davidson officiating.

Born Sept. 24, 1947 in Cortland, NY, she was the daughter of Edward and Mary (Eaton) Tracy. She had lived in Roscommon since 1990 and prior to that lived in Ann Arbor, Bolton, CT, St. Cloud, MN and East Liverpool, OH. She married Stewart M. Powrie on Sept. 28, 1974 in East Liverpool, OH. She was a school teacher in East Liverpool, OH, from 1976-1985, was a substitute teacher at Roscommon Schools from 1990-1997 and taught at ROOC from 1997-2010. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church, Roscommon and enjoyed flower gardening, camping and quilting.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Dale Tracy and sister, Barbara Hinger.

Surviving are her husband, Stewart; children, Jessica Powrie of Royal Oak and Andy Powrie of Ann Arbor; brothers, Douglas (Margaret) Tracy and Daniel (Lorraine) Tracy all of Cortland, NY; sisters, Christeen (Sam) Curlew of Scott, NY and Arleen (Larry) Saulsgiver of Ithaca, NY and many nieces and nephews.

Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon, handled the arrangements.
