Visitors came from far and wide to attend the 63rd annual carnival on ice. One man was from Australia.

Folks enjoyed the Grand Parade and the annual Bed Race before heading down to the TUT site.

Large crowds gathered at the new snowmobile drags, hosted on the ice of Houghton Lake by Yankee Zephyr Racing Promotions, and large fish were displayed on the fish board at the Ice Fishing Contest booth, hosted by the Houghton Lake Lake Association.

An Adrian man won the third annual 5K Run/Walk and a Bellevue girl found the Kids’ Medallion.

Getting things started tomorrow (Friday) are the family ice skating at the TUT pond and a tailgate party over at the beverage tent, featuring the music of Revolver.

Saturday’s fun includes more monster truck rides on the “Cobra,” the popular Polar Bear Dip, the snowmobile Poker Run, the Brothers of the Bush beard contest, another Ice Fishing Contest and softball on ice games. Be sure to catch the fireworks display Saturday night at 7 p.m.

Kids’ games continue at the outdoor games stage and entertainment is scheduled in the Family Fun Tent.

A $6 Tip-up Town 2013 badge is required for entry. Three badge ticket stubs are drawn Sunday at 4 p.m. for grand prizes, including the top award of $1,000.
