Warren man nabbed after call from alert citizen

A Warren man was arrested last weekend by Roscommon County Sheriff’s Deputies on a home invasion charge and other charges after an alert citizen reported a suspicious pick-up truck on the 8600 block of East Houghton Lake Drive, Markey Township.

The caller reported that the suspect had pulled up next to some pine trees in the driveway of a neighboring residence that she knew to be unoccupied. The caller continued to watch and the suspect exited the vehicle and approached her residence.

He did not knock on the door, but asked her to use the phone, saying he had run out of gas. From inside of her residence, the caller confronted him and told him he could not use her phone and advised him that she had a Rottweiler inside of her home. She observed the subject walk back to the roadway and then called 911 to report the incident as suspicious.

Deputies responded and an investigation led to the arrest of Johnathon Holland, 24. Holland was arraigned in 82nd District Court Jan. 25 on charges of first degree home invasion, second degree home invasion, breaking and entering a building, felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm while committing a felony.
