Paula Ann Vance

Roscommon resident Paula Ann Vance. 59, died Jan. 18, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family.

A service will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, at 2 p.m. at Markey Church, with Pastor Mark Montei officiating. Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon, handled arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the family for a charity to be determined later.

She was born in Detroit, the daughter of Paul Bernard and Anna Mary (McKallion) Memmer. She had lived in Ingham County before moving to Roscommon 14 years ago. She graduated from Walled Lake Western and then graduated Summa Cum Laude with an associate degree from Lansing Community College. She was a legal secretary and had worked for five years at the Houghton Lake Walmart.

Mrs. Vance enjoyed crafts, various hobbies and crossword puzzles. She was an accomplished pianist and an avid reader, devouring novels and poetry. She also loved animals.

Preceding her in death was her father, Paul Memmer.

Surviving are her son, Charles “Chuck” Kuhn of Roscommon; mother, Anna Memmer of Roscommon two sisters, Carin (Andy) Anderson of Mio and Carolynn Meike of Warren; brother, Joe (Cathy) Memmer of Clarkston; many nieces and nephews; and “adopted” daughter, Jamie Parsons Marsh of Houghton Lake.
