Bucks win 14th straight wrestling District title

The Roscommon High School varsity wrestling team won its 14th straight Michigan High School Athletic Association team District championship after defeating Oscoda 78-6 in the District final Feb. 6 at RHS.

To get to the District final, the Bucks blasted Tawas 65-18 in the District semifinal. Oscoda had a bye in the semifinal.

The Bucks will now wrestle in the MHSAA team Regional competition which will be held Feb. 13 at Cheboygan. Roscommon will wrestle the winner of the Kingford District in the opening round of Regionals.

Roscommon will also compete individually this weekend at the MHSAA individual Districts at Negaunee. Wrestling is set to begin Saturday at 9 a.m. and the starting weight class for the District is 160 pounds.
