‘Persons of interest’ pursued in assault incident
Det. Sgt. John Wybraniec of the Roscommon County Sheriff’s Office told the Resorter in a July 24 interview that, thanks to tips from the community, a few “persons of interest” have been identified in the July 11 sexual assault of a 12-year-old female at a convenience store in the Village of Roscommon.
The white male subject, in his mid- 20s, entered the store behind a 12-yearold girl and her mother, and shortly thereafter, he assaulted the young girl in one of the aisles of the store, according to a Roscommon County Sheriff’s Department press release. The male subject immediately left the store.
The male subject is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet in height, with a slender build, short cropped dark hair, and a dark colored beard.
“We were very pleased with the response from the community,” Wybraniec said.
He added those persons of interest will be questioned and an arrest has yet to be made.
