Arroyo enters plea before trial

Set to stand trial starting Monday for the murder of Anita Bright of Nester Township, Francisco C. Ar­royo, 44, Silverwood, entered a plea in 34th Circuit Court, Roscommon.

Arroyo pleaded no contest to two of four counts, homicide open mur­der and homicide attempted murder. Dismissed were charges of first de­gree home invasion and felony fire­arms.

He was accused of murdering Bright at the age of 48 June 24, 2015. Police had responded to a call just after 3 p.m. June 24 on Green­wood

Road where two victims had been shot.

Police had found Bright with a gunshot wound to her head who was pronounced dead at the scene. An­other victim, a male, was transported to West Branch Regional Medical Center in stable condition.

Following a search for Arroyo, officers from the Warren Police De­partment arrested him in Warren.

Arroyo is to be sentenced March 22 in 82nd District Court before Judge Richard E. Noble.
