Free foreclosure prevention counseling now being offered

Residents who may have fallen on hard times and are worried about losing their homes may seek foreclosure prevention assistance in northwest lower Michigan by contacting the Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency (NMCAA), a NeighborWorks chartered member.

Free Foreclosure Prevention Counseling is available in NMCAA’s Cadillac, Traverse City and Petoskey offices. Homeowners can find out how to avoid foreclosure and the different foreclosure programs that are available.

NMCAA, a certified HUD and MSHDA Housing Counseling Agency, will also educate homeowners about the foreclosure process and counsel families on budgeting for their personal financial situation.

Homeowners do not have to be within the actual foreclosure process to access these services – many are available before a crisis actually occurs in order to keep the clients out of the foreclosure process altogether.

For information call (231) 947- 3780 or (800) 632-7334 or visit www.nmcaa.net.
