Norma Jean Dickinson

Norma Jean Dickinson, 90, Houghton Lake, died March 15, 2017, at her home.

No funeral service is planned. Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon, handled arrangements.

She was born in South Lyon March 14, 1927, to Harry Garland and Millie Etta (Richey) Edmundson. In 1986, she moved to Houghton Lake from New Hudson.

She and Claude R. Dickinson were united in marriage Sept. 7, 1945, in Redford Township. Her husband preceded her in death Nov. 28, 2013.

Mrs. Dickinson was a homemaker and a past member of New Hudson United Methodist Church. She was a life member of Charles M. Engel VFW Post #4159. She enjoyed baking, reading and crossword puzzles.

Preceding her in death besides her husband, Claude, were her parents; granddaughter, Saundra Garrett; great-grandson, Jonny; sister, Delilah Brill; and three brothers, Earl, Kenneth and Leon Edmundson.

Surviving Mrs. Dickinson are her three children, Mike Dickinson of Houghton Lake, Claudia Smith of Keokee, VA, and Roxanne Mills of Conroe, TX; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Memorial donations may be made to the Roscommon County Animal Shelter or the American Diabetes Association.
