The Michigan State Police celebrated its 100th anniversary April 19, 2017, which Gov. Rick Snyder has declared as Michigan State Police Day. A MSP press release noted that in 1918, Michigan State Police troopers rendered aid in six automobile wrecks, and that in 2016, troop­ers rendered aid in 43,448 traffic crashes.
