Franklin Wayne Peake

Franklin Wayne Peake, 80, St. Helen, died April 10, 2017, at McLaren Bay Regional Hospital, Bay City.

A service was held April 14 at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home, St. Helen, with Pastor Ken Pe­terson officiating. Interment was in Fair­view Cemetery, St. Helen. Memorial contributions may be made to We Care Shop of St. Helen, P.O. Box 512, St. Helen, MI 48656.

He was born in Newberry March 18, 1937, and then moved to Warren as a child.

He was in the Army for several years and served overseas in the intelligence area. He moved to Sterling Heights in 1966 and spent the next 30 years in the Metro Detroit area working in the as­phalt paving business.

In 1982, he and his wife, Pamela, opened Action Traffic Maintenance out of their home. Over the years, they built the business into a thriving corporation that has become an industry leader. Mr. Peake remained involved in the business until his death.

He was a passionate baseball and hockey fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and dogs. He was a contributor to the local police and fire departments and gave many hours of service, helping the community and Charlton Heston Academy.

Preceding him death were his son, Ja­son; wife Joyce; mother, Louise Sartor; father, Michael Fredrick Peake; stepfa­ther, Clarence Sartor; sister, Lucille; and brothers, Gerald and Fred.

Surviving Mr. Peake are his wife, Pamela of St. Helen; children, Timothy (Mary), Laura (Billy) Bagley, Thom­as (Barbara), Kelly Peake and Neil (Lisa); brother, Robert; sisters, Joann Kiesznowski and Ilene Zalewski; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
