Joseph Edmond Friday Sr.

Joseph Edmond Friday Sr., 71, died at his home in St. Helen, surrounded by his fam­ily April 12, 2017.

A funeral Mass was held at St. Helen Catholic Church, St. Helen, April 17. Father Larry Boks and Sister Barbara Matievich, O.P., officiated. Interment was in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. In lieu of flowers, memorial dona­tions may be made to Knights of Colum­bus, St. Helen.

The son of the late George and Thel­ma (Morris) Friday, he was born Oct. 19, 1945, in Cheboygan. After serving his country in the Army, he raised his family in Sterling. He was no stranger to hard work, spending most of his career as a home contractor, with a business card reading “Have It Done By Friday.” He was a member of the Knights of Colum­bus and St. Helen Catholic Church, St. Helen.

His passions were cooking, drawing artwork and building dollhouses in his shop. He also enjoyed family gatherings, dancing and golfing. He was extremely proud of his family who meant the world to him. He will be remembered as a kind- hearted man who had the natural ability to make all those around him smile.

Surviving Mr. Friday are his daugh­ters, Tammy (William) Goodroe, Pamela Disney, Melissa (Matt) Friday and Darla (Jon) Worden; son, Joseph (Kimberly) Friday Jr.; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one grandpup.

Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home, handled the arrangements.
