William E. Kittle

Longtime Houghton Lake resident William E. Kittle, 92, Huron Township, died April 9, 2017, at Henry Ford Wyan­dotte Hospital in Wyandotte.

A memorial service was held April 17 at Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home, Flat Rock Chapel. Memorial contribu­tions may be made to Disabled Ameri­can Veterans.

Born July 5, 1924, in New Boston, he was the son of Frank and Eva (Gil­land) Kittle. On Nov. 24, 1947, he mar­ried Bernadine Bogoske in Bowling Green, OH. He was a proud World War II veteran, having served in the Army Air Force from

1944-45. He was employed with McLouth Steel, Trenton, as a millwright for 30 years, until his retirement in 1986.

After retirement, he and his wife spent 30 years living at Houghton Lake, where they enjoyed their retirement fish­ing. He also enjoyed riding on snow­mobiles, doing all kinds of puzzles and gardening.

Preceding him in death were his par­ents; brothers, Charles and Frederick; and three sisters, Genevieve Thomas, Joyce Dulong and Viola Johnson.

Surviving are his wife, Bernadine Kittle of New Boston; three daughters, Gloria Lents, Linda Kittle and Mary (Wiley) VanHooser, all of New Boston; brother, Earl Kittle of Houghton Lake; eight grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren.
