Mary Lou Scott

Mary Lou Scott, 85, Houghton Lake, formerly of Clio, died July 9, 2017, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.

A service was held July 12 at Im­manuel Baptist Church, Roscommon, with Dr. David E. Hansen officiating. A graveside service will be held today (Thursday, July 13) at 11 a.m. at Thet­ford Township Cemetery, Clio.

She was born in Flint Feb. 16, 1932, to Eber Henry and Mary Beth (Stalker) Willson. She and Duane Scott were united in marriage Feb. 14, 1951, in Flint. They lived in Clio and moved to Houghton Lake in 1982. A member of Immanuel Baptist Church she could be found with the little ones in the church nursery whenever possible. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting, sewing and vegetable and flower gardening. She also enjoyed working on all types of puzzles including crossword, jigsaw and word searches.

Preceding her in death were her par­ents; two sons, Steven and Daniel Scott; grandson, Michael Scott; and siblings, Eber Willson and Ruby Lambert.

Surviving Mrs. Scott are her hus­band, Duane; four children, Tom (Carol) Scott of Lakeland, FL, Kerry (Dale) Weaver of Ashkum, IL, Ann (Dan) Cun­ningham of Lowell and Don (Anne) Scott of Clarkston; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and sister, Dora (John) McQuistion of Indianapolis, IN.

Memorials may be made to Immanu­el Baptist Church or to the family for a charity to be determined later. Arrange­ments were handled by Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon.
