Jacob E. ‘Jake’ Gross

Jacob E. “Jake” Gross, 30, Grayling, died Aug. 5, 2017, in an automobile accident in Amber Township, Mason County.

A service will be held at a later date.

Born Sept. 9, 1986 in Battle Creek, he was the son of Ronald Samuel and Kathy Jo (Peterson) Gross. After liv­ing in Roscommon for seven years, he moved to Grayling nine months ago. He was married to Elizabeth L. Jabar.

Mr. Gross served in the U.S. Marines from 2006 to 2010, reaching the rank of Lance Corporal. He had been a heating and cooling technician for All Shores Heating and Cooling, Houghton Lake.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; four children, Damion and Matthew Adkins, Jacob II and Derek Gross, all at home; mother, Kathy Gross of Glad­win; father, Ronald Gross of Grayling; father-in-law, Robert (Theresa) Jaber of Roscommon; mother-in-law, Sahra Col­ford of Florida; maternal grandmother, Mary Jane Vondra of Geneseo, KS; three sisters, Leisa (Mike) Eckstein of Al­lendale, Deania Sinkler of Cadillac and Rose (fiancé, Justin Abbe) Gross of Mid­land; five brothers, Joe (Sharon) Mas­sone of Auburn, AL, Jamie (Meghan) Stock of Royal Oak, Peter (fiancé Chris­sy Graham) Gross and of Gaylord, Rus­sell (Heidi) Gross of Roscommon and Alan Gross of Grayling and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Gross.

Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon, handled the arrangements. Memorial contributions can be directed to the fam­ily.
