Earl William 'Bill' McConnell

Earl William "Bill" McConnell, 81, Prudenville, died Aug. 31, 2017, at McLaren Bay Region Hospital, Bay City.

Cremation has taken place and no service will be held.

He was born in Flint Feb. 26, 1936, to John and Violet McConnell. After living for 60 years in Davison and having a career at Buick in Flint as a machine repairman, he moved to Prudenville in his retirement. He was known as "Mr. Fix It" and was always there to help his family and friends, who will miss him.

While living in Prudenville, he enjoyed his hobbies of fishing and woodworking. Building lighthouses became his passion. A monument to that passion stands at the water's edge in front of the Heights Marina for all to see.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and wife, Patricia.

Surviving are his three sons, Mark McConnell of Columbiaville, Keith McConnell of Reese and Todd McConnell of Goshen, IN; sister, Marilyn Taylor of Marysville; brother, Richard McConnell of Prudenville; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
