OLLRCS Celebrates the United States Constitution

On Sept. 18 Anne Bawek’s young 5 and kindergarten students learned about the Constitution by viewing and singing along to the classic Schoolhouse Rock cartoon video that teaches about the history behind the Preamble of the United States Constitution.

Each student came up with their own idea on what they could do and then signed theirconstitution,” promising that they would try to make a difference.

After students worked in pairs to analyze each line of the Preamble, they used their discoveries to write their own guidelines for their classroom. Finally, they voted on the wording of theirClasstitution” us- ing the principles of democracy.
