Located at 9261 West Lake City Rd., it was formerly Mikey’s Restaurant (and for years a Big Boy).

The restaurant has been started by Barbara Lianne Bailey her partner, Matthew Stevens, and her sons, Logan and Erik Lovenstein. Together with her managers, Delma Carmen, Krystal Ketchpaw and Yasmyn Woloszyk, they are excited and ready to open to the public.

Tours of the restaurant will be offered and there will be samplings of the salad bar, buffet and drinks for $5 per person. Free gifts will be available, while supplies last. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.

A grand opening will be held the following morning with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Doors open at 6 a.m. and the regular business hours are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.

Veterans Day specials will be offered Saturday, Nov. 11. There will be free meals for active duty and veterans (with military ID).

“Barb’s Family Restaurant was created out of a love of the values handed down from my momma, Barbara Jean Bailey,” Bailey said. “Her love of serving people is truly at the core of our decision to revive her dream. When Barbara

Jean started her very first restaurant in the 80s, it was with one clear goal in mind, to serve those around her with the best comfort she could in the form of warm meals, sweet treats and plenty of love. It is here at Barb’s Family Restaurant that we will again serve our beautiful neighbors and patrons the love and comfort foods they need! We believe that love truly produces the best comfort foods and we aim to please.”

The restaurant’s phone number is (989) 302-8300.
