Nancy Sue Fain

Nancy Sue Fain, 75, died Dec. 1, 2017, at her home in St. Helen, with her husband by her side.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled. Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home, West Branch, handled arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Heartland Hospice.

She was born in Toledo, OH, to G.H. and Nettie (Feddick) Johnston Nov. 8, 1942. She had lived in St. Helen full time for the past 14 years and was previously of Troy.

She was a proud 1960 graduate of Flint Northern High School. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, St. Helen, and belonged to Ladies of Hope. She enjoyed their many quilting groups.

She and her husband, John, were past members of the Elks Lodge in Troy and then at the Houghton-Higgins Lake Lodge. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, whether it be trips to the casino or summer gatherings at her home on the lake. She loved her family dearly and treasured every minute together.

Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Dorothy Lee; and brother, James Johnston.

Surviving Mrs. Fain are her husband, John C. Fain Sr. of St. Helen; children, John (Christine) Fain Jr. of Brandywine, MD, and Amy (Jeff) Cooper of Troy; grandchildren, Justin and Katie Sue Cooper; cousins, George Groehsl of Harrison and Diane Sloan of Fenton; and nephews and one niece.
