Superintendent search meeting reset for Monday

A stakeholder meeting on a superintendent search for Houghton Lake Community Schools has been rescheduled for Monday, Dec. 11, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

A meeting was to take place the evening of Dec. 5, but was changed when school was canceled due to a power outage in the Houghton Lake area.

The board of education will meet with Dr. Rod Green of the Michigan Association of School Boards on the superintendent search process in the Board of Education Meeting and Staff Development Center, located on the west side of Houghton Lake High School. The public is invited to attend.

Also planned are meetings for bus driver input at 2 p.m.; teachers and teacher assistants at 3:30 p.m. and administrators at 4:15 p.m., all in the board room. A new timeline will be posted on the district’s website, hlcsk12.net, where a survey is available until noon today (Thursday).

A regular school board meeting will follow the stakeholder meeting at 6:30 p.m.
